PRESS RELEASE - World Champion joins Progressive Coaching Systems as MTB Skills Coach!
Long time PCS athlete, Lisa Mathison, is Progressive Coaching System’s new Mountain Bike Skills Coach. Lisa has had an extensive career in Cross-country Mountain biking; from the Brisbane hills to the Swiss alps, Lisa has seen a fair amount of it. Dual Junior World Champion and Australian Olympian; Lisa has experienced training through some of the most revered cycling institutions in the world.
In 2003, Lisa was offered a scholarship at the UCI International Cycling Centre, the first Australian to be offered this prestigious opportunity, training under the guidance of legendry Olympian, Chantal Daucourt, in Switzerland. Her development as an all round cyclist has seen her competing on the international stage on dirt as well as on the road and now in the Mountain Bike Downhill scene.
Some of Lisa’s major achievements include, her 10th place in the Athens Olympics, 2004 Australian Female MTB Cyclist of the Year; 2003 Sport Industry Australia Young Female Athlete of the Year and Queensland Cyclist of the Year for 2003.
Whilst Lisa is still chasing her dreams, in the gravity side of mountain biking, she has recently gained her National Coaching Cycleskills Coaching Accreditation (NCAS) and has joined the team at PCS to support the next generation of Australian mountain bikers.
