Nick Pedler’s relationship with cycling got off to a rocky start. Within a week of Santa delivering his first bike Nick was in hospital with a broken limb! Thankfully four year olds are resilient and, with the afflicted limb fully healed, Nick was soon constructing elaborate “bike jumps” in the street. Those early skills of balance and control proved useful when Nick’s primary school took a group of children into the bush trails of Mt Coot-tha. A love affair was born!

From 2010 onwards XCO was Nick’s choice of discipline, requiring both fitness and bike control; it was a challenge he wanted to conquer. In 2010 he entered the Sunshine Series as a rookie and took the honours; a feat he repeated the following two years.

Along the way Nick’s riding endeavors have been helped by many people including John Forbes of Kenmore Cycles and Aiden Lefmann of Cyclinic. Since 2013 Nick, has been coached by Donna Dall.

At the end of 2015 Nick joined the Planet Cycles PCS Racing Team and has gone on to podium at National Series rounds in the 2015/2016 season and to top it off Nick has just been selected to represent Australia at the 2016 World Championships in Nové Město na Moravě, Czech Republic from 28 June – 3 July later this year, an achievement he considers to be great honour.
